This book is billed as a classroom management resource for K-12 teachers. However, as a K/1 teacher, nothing in this book applied to my classroom situation or my students.Everything is geared toward middle and high school teachers and the struggles they face. The advice, the student quotes, the scenarios, and the author’s own stories from the trenches are centered on grades 6+. (This isn’t surprising, really, considering those are the grades the author has taught.) If you teach secondary students, I think you’ll get a lot out of this book. Anyone teaching at the elementary level will likely be disappointed. This book really changes the way I do things in my class. It gave me insight and effective strategies to make my classroom more of a learning environment. I have also noticed my stress level has gone way down since reading through this book and using what I have learned. I can't give enough praises to this book and its author.
